Update: Comrades from the CPGB-ML, including Red Youth, were among the most numerous as various leftist organisations came together to mark the 30th anniversary of the Battle of Orgreave. The confrontation of striking miners with brutal police repression all but sounded the death knell of what remained of Britain’s militant labour movement.
Thirty years on it has become clear that support for the established parties of imperialism and their hangers on is dwindling. There is no place anymore for failed reformism or petty economistic bargaining. The future requires something else. The future is socialism.
