US imperialism masquerading as wokeness forever vexed at Soviet achievements

Miss Marina Koren of The Atlantic is at pains to present her ignorance as enlightenment. Her article, for the Science section of her publication, entitled “The Soviet Space Program Was Not Woke”, where she claims that “sending the first woman into space isn’t the same as developing an astronaut program that values equality”, is completely devoid of scientific thinking, historical understanding and research objectivity and amounts to nothing more than a shameless and laughable display of the capitalist bias of her liberal attitudes.

The author criticises the case of Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, the Soviet cosmonaut, who in 1963 became the first woman in space and broke the highest of glass ceilings, as a “propaganda exercise”. Liberal sensitivities are so eager to wave the American flag around the supposed egalitarian nature of their imperialism that masquerades as “wokeness” (alertness to social injustice) and take offence at the proved successes of the first socialist state in the world. Against Intersectionality: A Warning to Young Communists

Against Intersectionality: A Warning to Young Communists

In the last few years communists have struggled against the bourgeois academic onslaught of identity politics, with us, the CPGB-ML, going so far as to pass a motion at the last congress making open advocacy of identity politics grounds for expulsion. The reasoning of this is simple: identity politics is bourgeois and divides groups of people, particularly workers, through dichotomy, pitching black people against white people, men against women, able bodied people against disabled people, etc.

This dualistic dead end does not unify workers on common ground, namely that of class, and by extension socialism. Furthermore, it lends itself to leaving the common enemy of workers, the bourgeoisie, utterly unscathed. In fact it merely operates as a means of deflecting the blows of working people away from capitalism and instead leads them to the path of entrenching chauvinism, prejudice and cannibalising their own class, rather than uniting it upon economic lines.

The further danger with identity politics, including intersectionality, is that, whilst utterly depending on bourgeois content (i.e. the prevailing capitalist cultural and academic concepts and ideological framework), it all too often dons the garments of socialist form, yet obscures, relegates or outright discards class.

Scurrilous BBC documentary “The Mole”

The latest disgraceful piece of anti-DPRK propaganda from the BBC has been released titled “the Mole: infiltrating north Korea“. This documentary secretly filmed teenagers and those who are clearly vulnerable adults who have gravitated towards a peaceful solidarity group in search of social interaction and friendship. The hope of the film makers was to denigrate the DPRK which is ostensibly receiving ‘solidarity’. The infiltration of this vulnerable group was necessary for the film makers to win trust and gain access to Korea in order to film scenes the content of which could be distorted by the documentary makers in order to spread hysteria about Korea. Counterfire Trots still banging the anti-Stalin drum

It is with shock but no surprise that we see once again the sacrifices of the USSR in the Patriotic War presented as ‘geopolitical competition’ (a criminal mischaracterisation); the socialism of the Soviet Union denigrated under a meaningless schematic, ‘bureaucratic state capitalism’; and Leon Trotsky held up, not as bureaucrat extraordinaire, but as Bolshevik par excellence – the hard-done-by champion of workers’ democracy and international revolution. This potted history of the Soviet Union takes us, in roughly six hundred words, through a well-worn looking glass. Continue reading “Counterfire Trots still banging the anti-Stalin drum”

Disrespectful Ukrainian stunt celebrated by “Pink News”

The fascists of Kiev, emboldened by their anticommunist sponsors, engaged in yet another action aimed at denigrating the legacy of the USSR and the humanism and class equality it stood for.

Activists on a payroll, used a drone to carry a giant rainbow flag to the top of the Motherland Monument in Kiev. This huge memorial to the Soviet war dead, was erected in 1981 and stands at an impressive 203 feet. Continue reading “Disrespectful Ukrainian stunt celebrated by “Pink News””

Happy 99th Birthday To The Communist Party Of China!

In celebration this week of the 99th birthday of the Communist Party of China, we send our warmest comradely greetings to the cadres working hard to drive China forward to a moderately prosperous socialist society, the task entrusted to them through the programme of the party.

Socialist and anti-imperialist states have always been subjected to slanders and accusations by the imperialist press and academia. The endless clamour about ‘human rights abuses’ is a tired old technique for deceiving people. As Malcolm X once said: “If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” Continue reading “Happy 99th Birthday To The Communist Party Of China!”
