Imperialism’s drive to war in Korea
At the beginning of April, US President Trump made the startling announcement that “if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will,” arrogantly adding, “China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won’t. And if they do, that will be very good for China, and if they don’t it won’t be good for anyone.”
In the wake of that announcement, this week the USS Carl Vinson carrier group was announced to be travelling to Korea, later revealed to be untrue, a bit of fake news to bolster Trump’s declaration on 12 April that the US is “sending an armada” to join in with the regular provocative military excersises conducted on the Peninsula. Around 30,000 US troops are stationed in South Korea, with a further 50,000 in Japan and 3,000 in Guam.
US imperialism is known for being staunchly against any nation not firmly under its economic or military control to be capable of defending itself, and Korea is perhaps the most frustrating example of an independent nation.
CPGB-ML interviews an American political analyst about Trump and his impact on imperialism
In the following interview, I sat down with an American political analyst to discuss Donald Trump’s victory in the US Presidential elections and whether or not he represents a blow to imperialism. We discussed the impact Trump would have if he sticks to his promises regarding NATO and free trade agreements and whether of not he will end the export of so-called freedom and democracy.

Maduro “ready to radicalise the revolution”
While the corrupt and reactionary agents of the bourgeoisie in Brazil have suspended democratically elected Dilma Rousseff’s presidential powers (Attempted Coup in Brazil – Proletarian), leaving the traitorous Temer holding the reins, the class struggle in Venezula intensifies.
Venezuela has suffered at the hands of the national and international bourgeoise and compradors who have conspired to sabotage the gains made by Chavez, Maduro, and the PSUV. Hoarding basic goods such as toilet roll and food, economic and infrastructural sabotage, capital flight, and more recently assassinations, combined with the drop in oil revenues, are just some of the tactics employed to undermine the popular democractic efforts to socialize Venezuela.

Heroes of 1916 – the Easter Uprising
On May Day of the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Uprising, Comrade Joti of the CPGB-ML speaks about the Irish people’s long struggle for national liberation from British rule, which was inspired by the uprising and its leaders – James Connolly, Tom Clarke, Padraig Pearse, and their comrades.
Marx and Engels concluded that Britain would never be free – that is would be incapable of social revolution; of workers freeing themselves of their ruling imperialist capitalist class – until Ireland, her oldest colony, won its liberation.
Lenin, in turn, praised the Easter uprising of 1916 as a great revolutionary struggle, going so far as to name her citizen army as being ‘Europe’s first Red Army.’

Red Youth and the CPGB-ML once again took to the streets this 1 May to celebrate International Workers’ Day, marking the past heroic struggles of the working classes of the world and promoting the only viable future for humanity – communism!
Jeremy Corbyn addressed the crowd at Clerkenwell – the first Labour leader to do so in 50 years – apparently solely to address the media furore around perceived anti-semitism within the Labour party which has seen Naz Shah MP and Ken Livingstone suspended. Desperate to preserve their electability not a single mention of the genocide of Palestinians was to be heard.
